"BRINGING THE WORLD TO THE TAMPA BAY REGION..
AND THE TAMPA BAY REGION TO THE WORLD”
THE INTERNATIONAL COUNCIL OF THE TAMPA BAY REGION, INC. is the official “council

“International Visitor Leadership Program (IVLP)” in the Tampa Bay Region.

International Visitor Leadership Program
For nearly 70 years, the International Visitor Leadership Program has been
recognized as the “crown jewel” of United States public diplomacy; its 92
nationwide councils were nominated for the Nobel Peace Prize in 2001. At
present, one-fourth of the United Nations member states have an IVLP
alumnus as head of state or government.
American ambassadors call the IVLP “the most important foreign policy tool
the US has at its disposal.”
THE INTERNATIONAL COUNCIL matches hundreds of official international visitors,
including policy officials, influential media leaders, education, business and
non-governmental organization professionals with their counterparts in the
Tampa Bay Region.
Since its founding, the ICTBR has hosted in excess of 1,500 international
visitors from more than 130 countries. In 2008, the International Council
hosted 204 visitors from 85 countries in Tampa Bay’s seven counties.
The INTERNATIONAL COUNCIL of the Tampa Bay Region was established in 2000,
and is currently headquartered in St. Petersburg. The International Council
is a 501-c-3 private operating foundation under the US Tax Code (FEIN: 59-
3651710). Contributions to the International Council are deductible as
charitable donations for Federal income tax purposes.
